 National Florida Day

Floridians have something to celebrate every day of the year, but there is a special day to remind us of our pride: National Florida Day on January 25th recognizes us as the 27th state to join the United States of America. The Sunshine State is filled with natural beauty, with over 175 state parks, beautiful botanical gardens, swaying sable palms, fragrant orange blossoms, plentiful freshwater and saltwater fish, and marine life. Even Florida's professional sports teams' names recognize the diverse surrounding animal life - Miami Dolphins football, Florida Marlins baseball, Florida Panthers hockey, and Miami Heat basketball.

There is nowhere better to be than Naples, located on the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida. It is a year-round paradise, home of perfect weather for outdoor sports, including golf, swimming, biking, tennis, and pickleball. Like those at the Club at Olde Cypress, Florida country club residents can enjoy these activities daily, right in their backyards. Plus, where else can you dine outside even in the winter? Beyond your club's award-winning dining facilities, a wide variety of casual, upscale, and ethnic restaurants abound.

There is never a moment to be bored in Naples, which hosts outdoor events unlike any other area. Whatever your interests - arts and crafts, boats, vintage cars, concerts, children's activities – there is always something new to do. If you are a sports fan, there are annual professional spectator sports events held all year, including ATP tennis tournaments and PGA golf events. In fact, Naples is even hosting the US Open Pickleball Championships this April!

Residents and visitors alike have ample reason to celebrate Florida, a leisure lifestyle unlike any other!
